Just What You Want To Be…
Submitted by: Lesa Kay Lane
Jacksonville, FLI write songs, poetry, and stories. I study dreams, history, and the products of inspiration. In short, I'm a daydream believer...
August 19, 2008, I went out with a friend who is more than just a friend to me. We went out to eat, we went to shops, we talked. We had quite a day. Finally we found ourselves at a electronics store. He wanted to buy a DVD player for his parents. I was browsing around when I saw a book on a shelf called ‘The Secret’. The attractive packaging caught my eye. I picked it up, flipped through it, but didn’t have enough time to really focus on what I was seeing. I wondered, “Is that the same thing as what I saw listed in the movie section on my TV?”
I got home and decided to watch ‘The Secret’.
Now, I admit that I was guarded as I began to watch it. I was concerned that it might tread on my personal beliefs. Guess what? It did! And, it didn’t!
It tread upon my deep-seated fears that have always kept me from attracting what I truly want out of life, and it didn’t by way of the simple fact that my own personal choice of faith teaches the very same principles:
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not…
Ask… and ye shall receive.
So, I asked, and now, one year later, I find myself completely out of debt, in a job with great earning potential, and hope for creating a business of my very own.
Oh, and that friend I mentioned in the beginning of my story? Well… Who knows what yet may be? But it’s sure going to be a lot fun finding out!
Thanks to Rhonda and to all who helped and who continue help tell ‘The Secret’, as each of our own wonderful stories unfolds.
And above all, thanks to the Universe, God, Deity, however you choose to refer to this wonderful force that connects and gives so very much to us all.
