My story shows how you can go from plodding along in life to gaining the confidence and knowledge of how to improve it step by step, with the power of the Secret!

When I began work with my employer 2 years ago I moved house to be where it was so I wouldn’t need a car to get there.
However I soon began to feel trapped, having lost the independence of having a car, so I decided to try and work more to be able to afford a car again to give me back my freedom. After many failed attempts to get more hours given to me at work, I decided that the only way to bring in some extra money would be a part time job alongside my full time one.

I heard about ‘The Secret’ book from a friend, and decided to ask for it for Christmas. After reading the first couple of chapters I grasped the concept of thinking of what you want so I focused on getting a part time job to bring home more money.

By Feb I had discovered a catalogue delivery/networking job which cost £150 to get me started. During my first month, I was on holiday for 2 weeks from my full time job so was able to get really stuck into the catalogue delivering. By the 2nd week, I had found a girl with my catalogues (without even trying) who wanted to join the business, who then joined my team. As I found her in my first month of the business, I was rewarded a refund of the start up cost of £150. Also from having time off from my full time job and putting lots of effort in, I achieved 10% bonus, with my team member boosting that to 13% bonus with her own hard work! Now I had this new income, I needed something to spend it on e.g. a car. And guess what… the man who found me for the catalogue job had a next-door neighbour who was about to scrap his car, but would sell me it for £150!

So you can imagine how quickly this all happened and how I couldn’t believe my luck! But I truly believe it’s because I focused on wanting a part time job to bring in some extra money so badly, that when I got it I literally got the best from it straight away, without really having to try!

After seeing how easy running your own business is, it inspired me to start thinking about having my own part time mobile beauty business instead of the catalogues.

So now I had my car, the extra money from the catalogue job didn’t seem so important anymore. The girl in my team quit, and so did the man who found me. But it didn’t get me down, as I knew I had got the best experience and some extra money from them already. Now I had the tools to start doing things my own way!
For months I had been unhappy living where we were and paying such high rent, that now I had my car we were able to live further away from my workplace. This led us to find a new gorgeous house in a village exactly where we wanted to be, and for £150 less a month in rent!

We moved here in May. I am so grateful for this wonderful new house and everything I have learnt and achieved this year. But never being one to just sit and enjoy for long, I was then thinking ‘what next?’ even though I had all I wanted. I thought the natural thing to manifest next would be a new car. So I ordered a Aygo Toyota brochure, looked at it knowing I would soon have a new car, then left it in a pile of paperwork. Every time I went to find paperwork after that, I would glance at the brochure. I really began to focus on the Secret again. I finished reading the book, watched the DVD, started looking at the website regularly, knowing that when I discovered ‘what next’, I would get exactly that.
I quit the catalogue job, and began focusing on building my own beauty mobile business.

So having settled in our new house after a couple of months, my car decided to break down and became un-drivable. Most people would think of this as bad luck. But I was actually grateful as it gave me an excuse to get a new one and spice up my life again! Within a week after it breaking down, I got a nice new one. Now I have a 1 year old reliable car. I can fully set out on my quest to run my mobile beauty business, knowing my car won’t let me down. It is not a Toyota Aygo but is better as it’s cheaper and more economical.

So next on my list is to build a clientele quick enough to be able to leave my full time job and sack my boss in at least a year.

I apologise if my story is very long, but I just wanted to get across the true amount I have achieved in the last 8 months.

I hope my story inspires everyone who reads it and reinforces the power of the Secret, as I don’t think anywhere near enough people know or believe in it, which is such a shame.
