Like for majority of the people in the world, the year 2008 to 2009 was one of the worst years – the economic recession not only affected my employment situation but also my personal and social life. It started in the summer of 2008; I graduated from University with high hopes and aspirations for my future, believing in the endless possibilities out there. However, I did not account for the recession which would change the employment situation everywhere. I applied for countless jobs, first only in the UK then as I became desperate I applied everywhere and anywhere, but result was the same generic email/letter/phone call: “I am sorry but at this point your skills and qualifications do not match what we are looking for, however we wish you all the best in your future endeavours…”

At first I had high hopes and believed that I would soon get a job, but as time passed my confidence and self esteem became shattered. I began doubting myself, my abilities, and even my degree!! To make things worse I needed money, therefore I started working as a temporary waitress (I couldn’t even get a job as a permanent waitress!), and worked jobs that I did not like, many odd hours, with people who did not treat me very well.

I decided to go back home and take a break, and seeing how stressed I was my best friend told me about The Secret. I had watched it 2 years before but had not really taken interest in it. I watched it again, and I can say it changed my life. I was already so negative about getting a job that I had attracted negativity into my life, and when I did not get the jobs I applied for it confirmed to me that it was impossible to get a job, and it became a vicious cycle. I started to change my way of thinking and attitude. I made a vision wall and got a £20 note and added 3 zeroes at the end and stuck it there.

The next thing I know I was called for an interview, and a few weeks later I got the job. And the salary was £20,000!!!

A year and a half of job hunting, shattered confidence, and I came out with a lot more; a job and knowledge of The Secret. They say everything happens for a reason.

It was exactly what I had put forward to the universe on my vision wall. The Secret works! I had changed my attitude and stopped waiting for bad things to happen and realised that I create my world and my experiences. Thank you all for bringing this knowledge and wisdom to us! I am grateful and watch it every time I need a pick me up!
