Kitchener, OntarioI'm 34 years old, and trying to live a life of gratitude. When life throws me lemons I switch them out for something sweeter.
Hello everyone. This is my very first story on here. I would like to thank Rhonda Bryne for all the books she has written. I own every single one.
So, my story is as follows. I had been trying to apply the law of attraction for many years, and I honestly was about to give up. But things started to change for me in a matter of a month. I am a heart patient. Last January I had a major heart operation, which unfortunately left me with 3 strokes on the operating table as well as having 6 seizures. According to my surgeon I would not make it. I was in a coma, and that then caused me to be put on life support. The day that my sister had to make the decision on whether or not to pull the plug, I started to move my left leg. The surgeon who had told my parents and family that I was not going to make it, came down to the ICU to see for himself.
I am Hindu, so all I remember is chanting “Om Namaha Shivìya” over and over again. I was in the hospital for at least 6 to 7 weeks. I was remembering that story of how the pilot in The Secret movie had basically broken his entire body, and how he said that he wanted to walk out of the hospital by Christmas. I had that same thought in my head. The strokes left me paralyzed on both sides of my body, so I had to learn how to walk again, write again and even talk again.
I am so grateful today that as I am writing this, I started walking on my own, just one week after my surgery. I was writing again, though it looked like something my 8 year old nephew would write. I also started eating solids again. I ended up being rolled out of the hospital in Toronto via a wheelchair instead of walking but only because I was being transferred to the the Kitchener hospital where they would help me continue my therapy.
Throughout it all my parents, family, and siblings including my one cousin Charlene and Dr. S, who was the only one allowed to come in the ICU, never gave up on me. I am so grateful for the Doctors, nurses, and staff at Toronto General Hospital and at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener for all their hard work in getting me to the place I am now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Of course I am grateful to my parents and brothers and sister, my cousins, my brother-in-law, aunts and uncles, friends and family. And I am especially grateful to God and the Universe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
