It Still Makes Me Smile

Long Island, NYManifesting since I was a child, recognizing it since I read The Secret. Thank You! Thank You! The Universe IS Friendly!
I know that I’ve been manifesting things, bad or good since I was very young. Sometimes I would make the connection, other times I would just think I was being punished by the Universe. It wasn’t until I read The Secret that I knew I wasn’t imagining things and that I realized everything I ever needed or wanted was at my fingertips and it all depended on me. It was incredibly empowering as most of you already know.
My particular story is about how I landed my current job. I know for a fact that it was the result of my own conscious manifestation. About two years ago I graduated from college with a degree in English and writing. Everyone asked that dreaded question: what are you going to do now? It can get irritating when you’ve just graduated and already you are expected to know exactly where you’ll be working and what you’ll be doing.
I decided not to let it bother me one bit. I knew that my ideal position was out there. Whenever people would tell me that unemployment was at an all-time high, and everyone was just taking what they could get, I ignored them as if it didn’t apply to me. I knew that I would find my perfect fit.
I sent out applications, because part of The Secret does involve action, but not in a way that should feel strenuous or difficult. I just would send out applications and believe that my perfect job would be out there.
I landed one interview after a few months and didn’t get the job. In my head I knew that it wasn’t the right position for me. I knew the Universe was just giving me what I wanted and that I shouldn’t get discouraged.
After applying for open positions for months, I decided to re-send my resume to a magazine that was fairly close by. They didn’t have any open positions, but I knew it was a perfect match for me.
About a month went by and surprisingly I received an email to come into an interview with the publication! It was amazing because they weren’t even offering a position when I sent in my resume, but apparently one had opened up in their editorial department! I went in for the interview and felt I nailed it! Still, I knew that if I didn’t get the job, it would be for the best. The Universe knows best when it comes to these things.
I’m sure you’ve already figured out what happened… I got the job! I was the only person they interviewed for the position! And the only resume they had gotten!
I love the small town I moved to and my boyfriend was able to join me here and find a job in his field as well! I am so happy.
After earning an entry level position, I started gaining great experience, but I wanted more out of it. In just a little under two years I’ve moved up to head Editor of their newest publication among other titles that have given me great experience. I’m in my early 20’s and I have an amazing resume already. While many of my friends are still looking for jobs in their field, I tell them that their job is out there, but often it is easy to get consumed by the news telling us that there are no available positions and many people just settle and aren’t happy.
I’ve recently published a book, and have also won an award for an article I wrote in the publication I work at. With each day that passes I feel so grateful for everything that life has brought to me. Plus, I think the most important thing is to love yourself for the divine being that you are! Don’t ever forget that!
I have my good days and bad days, which is why I come onto this website and read everyone’s inspiring stories. I finally decided to add one of my own.
