Thank you to everyone who shares their inspirational stories which provide me with the patience, tips, tricks and love I need to keep believing. Thank you to The Secret team. May Magic Dust rain on you always.
This is a continuation of my story submitted last year called Instant Job in which I promised to write of my perfect job. I had found what I thought was a perfect job lined up for me and made a fake business card. I told friends I had an awesome job offered to me in the space of 30 minutes after a 2 hour interview and I believed wholeheartedly that I had received the wonderful job I loved. But my genie had other plans.
On the last day of my temp role I had a call from the same agency about a team leader role and to see if I would be interested. Shrugging my shoulders I said yes, why not. I was called back within 30 minutes with an interview for the following Wednesday. On doing my research I found knew nothing about this specialist industry. I didn’t know if I would like the place or what the job role actually meant as it was that vague! Anyway, moving on to Wednesday and the interview. It went great! I got on well with both men and answered questions with confidence! Two hours later I left and within, you guessed it, 30 minutes, I had a call from the agency asking for a second interview on that Friday! I wanted to know why and what they would ask but I got no answer to help me prepare.
So Friday came along and I was interviewed by two women this time. Two hours later they asked me to fill in some paperwork while they went for a discussion. Next they came back and offered me the job but the pay was not good for me so they came back with a revised offer starting on the next Monday! Finally the offer letter was signed and with a confirmed job in hand, I left. After a total of 4 hours, 2 for the interview and 2 for negotiation and paperwork, I had been offered a job at the salary I desired starting in three days time.
My first day I knew straight away that I loved it here and that I would enjoy my work and stay here for a very long time. Since then, in 10 months I have put in my own team and have just hired more people. I got a change in salary twice and now manage two teams, plus I negotiated my job title. I was really touched to hear a work colleague say that the only person they would trust to do a special task was me.
It has been a struggle, challenging and a steep learning curve with stress, or growth opportunities as I call them now, along the way. But I work hard and have enjoyed it every step of the way. I am now looking at my next role by creating this in my mind and looking forward to meeting the love of my life to move to the next stage of my happiness.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who reads or shares a story. I keep forgetting to let go when trying to find love or get so caught up on the how. Then a simple story you have written gently reminds me I am focussing my positive energy in the wrong place. So thank you for the wonderful stories that lift my spirits every day and remind me of the magic that follows happiness.
May love, happiness and success follow you in your life adventures.
