Incredible Love.
Submitted by: Kris J.
Jackson, WIMy husband and I share a beautiful life together, thanks to The Secret! We have amazing adult children, a daughter and son who are both incredibly talented! We also have a darling dog who is the subject of my story.
I have enjoyed so many stories. Thank you!
I would like to share one of my own. I experienced something that convinced me that love is incredible and powerful.
April 3 in Wisconsin was a very cold day. I was doing some pruning dressed in boots, snow pants, and 2 jackets. The dog was nearby. After about a half hour I heard her yelp, almost scream, as if she were under attack. I ran toward the sound with pruner in hand and was startled to find our dog swimming in the middle of our 14 ft. deep pond! She knows not to go near the open water. The ice was thin because of a warm up a few days earlier. I threw the rope we have on hand but she refused to go near it. Those brown eyes were fixed on me as she desperately paddled to stay afloat.
I instinctively went to help. Laying down, I crawled to the edge of the ice to reach her. I knew full well this was a risky move. I tried to grab her by the legs and the nape of her neck but as soon as I got her up to the edge she would slip back down. Our dog is a German shepherd weighing about 70 pounds. I know I cannot lift more than 50 pounds since the package delivered to our door the week before weighing 57 pounds was impossible to lift and I had to remove some of the contents to bring it inside.
As I was trying to hold on to her, our darling Sasha continued to struggle, but this time she gave me a panic-stricken look. I was losing her. I could not bear that thought. At that moment a surge of love went through me that is hard to explain and I was able to effortlessly pull her from the water! She is fine now.
I know that love is an amazing, wonderful and very powerful thing!
