I Want To Thank A Stranger.
Submitted by: Sabrina Dawn T.
SingaporeI am a freelance graphic designer and Arts student who moves between Singapore and the US every few months. I will be 21 this year!
I want to thank to stranger.
When I was 14, a stranger boarded my mother’s cab, and gave her a copy of The Secret.
I want to thank this stranger because he not only unknowingly saved my life, but turned my life around to a state of such perfection, my 14 year old self would not have believed it then.
You see, I was a victim of bullying and sexual assault since I was a young child, and was damaged because of that.
I was clinically depressed and suicidal. I even tried to take my life. My grades were abysmal. I had no friends. My mother and I struggled financially. She had to drive long hours as a cabbie to put food on our table.
That was who I was before that stranger turned my life around.
I really, really want to thank this guy that I have never even met, because without him, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
Whoever you are. Thank you. Thank you so much. May you be blessed with happiness, health and wealth.
You gave me The Secret. It is such an amazing gift. I thank you, I thank the universe, and Miss Rhonda and her team.
So many unbelievable things have happened.
I gained two amazing friends from high school, who have stuck by me through thick and thin. I was in the same class as they were when I was 13 years old. We never spoke, but one day, for no reason whatsoever, I began talking to them on MSN (the Facebook of the time). That was when I was 15.
I also began to get help from the school counselor, and while I wasn’t able to be friendly at that time, I still had a pretty good time in class.
I graduated at 16 with fantastic grades, and got into a College Course that I thought I wanted.
It turned out that Business was not for me, and though changing courses successfully was rarely heard of, let alone changing schools, I did it. I just didn’t stop focusing my goal to get into an Design course, and the belief that I could chase my own happiness and do whatever it was that I loved.
It seems strange to say that I began my friendship with those two friends from high school using an internet networking service when I didn’t own a computer then. I simply used my cousins when I lived with them for a period of time.
I did want a computer, but what I wanted didn’t exist at that time. I liked the design of sony’s VAIO laptops, but I heard from my male cousin who was great with computers that the specs weren’t amazing.
I really, really wanted a laptop with the design of a VAIO, but with much better specs. I decided to ask for it.
And then I forgot about it.
One day, while I was typing away at my new laptop while doing a project for my Business course in my college’s library, a girl came and sat beside me. She pulled out her VAIO laptop, and I admired how pretty it was.
I looked back at my laptop, and then sat there stunned for a while, just staring.
It had nearly the same design as her VAIO, but in the color I wanted. It was also a very good laptop. Sturdy, fast and reliable.
I had bought my dream laptop, and I didn’t even realize it! I have used it for nearly 4 years to this date, and it’s still as good as new. It ran the design programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator without trouble when I was learning how to use it in my new Arts course.
In my new Arts course, it seemed like everything was perfect. I had my dream laptop, I was studying my dream course with passion, I had the best, most supportive and caring friends in the world. I had finally gotten treatment for clinical depression, and life was really good.
The Secret had taught me to let go of the bad things in my past, and bring the good with me. With therapy and professional help, I was able to do that.
My best childhood memories were when I was 5, and I flew to the United States with my extended family for a holiday. For a long time, it has been my neglected dream to visit the United States again, and I wanted to study there too.
I don’t know how, all I know is that I asked for it, and believed it with all my might, but along with meeting the man of my dreams, I found myself last November fulfilling three dreams: I watched snowfall in the United States, knowing I would be watching it again this year as I start to settle down and start my studies.
Life was so beautiful I wanted to cry. But no, it didn’t just stop there.
My life is so beautiful and ridiculously perfect I find myself stunned in disbelief sometimes. You see, a few months ago, I started to ask for unexpected checks in my name. I believed that I deserved all the money that I wanted to live my life to the fullest.
Whenever I felt doubtful, I would take out my Ask book, and write
“I am deserving of the life that I want.
I deserve everything I want and ask for.
I deserve to be happy.
I am worthy. I am infinite.
Whatever comforts that people have, I deserve it too.
I decide what I deserve, and I deserve to be rich.
I deserve a million dollars to enjoy my life the fullest.
I deserve to be able to make the people I care about happy with all the gifts that I always wanted to buy them”
And I would write it over, and over, and over again, each sentence dispelling my doubts and all the bad feelings, until all I feel is good, and I believe entirely that I have received.
At first, it started with a 500 dollar check from my insurance company because my baggage was delayed.
And then one day, I woke up, and I had this pressing need to understand what the lottery was, and how to play it. Normally, I am rather negative about the lottery, but not that day, and not from that day ever again.
It was pretty simple. I just needed to go to the lottery outlet near my house and request to buy a ticket. Although I was sleepy the moment before, I was suddenly filled with energy. I got dressed, and made my way to the lottery outlet and bought the ticket.
I am now a millionaire too, on top of all of that that I have changed in my life.
So, to the stranger who gave my mother a copy of The Secret for absolutely free. Thank you. Thank you so much.
I pray with all of my heart that you have received everything that you want, just like I did. And more. A lot more.
I give you my blessings and prayers that you will always have everything and anything you want. May your life be your ideal of perfection for always. May you prosper, may you live out your life in perfect health, and may you always, always be happy.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
With love,
Daughter of the lady cab driver.
