After making a big move, I had lost a huge chunk of my income. After doing The Magic Money practices from The Magic and getting and following The Secret to Money App, I got a job! I was grateful, they were so excited about me that they hired me during the interview, saying they had never done that before. The money could not have gotten here any sooner. I had been planning for months to get a new computer. I had mine for about four and a half years and the screen had to be held on with a wire. I had to buy a new keyboard because the keys were not working. I had replaced the internal fan and the battery. Then finally, the hard drive crashed. So I had been using a borrowed, temporary laptop for the past few months. It was painfully slow and embarrassing to me in my remote position. I had been saying that I was going to get a new one when I got my next paycheck! I believed that I would.

I was online searching and also planning to go check out my options in person. There were a few instances when I was ready to walk out the door to go get one but for this reason or some other, I never seemed to make it.

My employer bought me a new computer with 2 monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse. I had asked him repeatedly not to because I did not want to be beholding to a company. I knew I was not going to be there much longer due to the misery I was in working there and did not want to have to pay to send back whatever he sent to me. So, a few weeks later I quit. I never even got to use the computer, I was out of town and let him know that I would get it returned to where he bought it from. I had arranged for the company to come pick up all the equipment. They went to the address I lived at 4 months prior, after I confirmed the address no less than 3 times. I went back to talk to customer service and they told him to keep it. I let them know I was nervous about doing that since I wanted to make sure my former employer was able to get a refund. They told me to keep everything and they would refund him anyway. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Not only did I get the upgrade I had been setting my sights on but in the process, I discovered all those files I thought I had lost when my laptop crashed were actually all backed up! I just logged into the Microsoft account and was able to access everything after I had been so sad for months.
