I Have Got The Job!
Submitted by: Clarissa
AustraliaI am a young academic
Thanks for The Secret and it’s my great pleasure to share my story with you here.
I always wanted to be an academic and now I am!
Ten years ago when I was doing my undergraduate study, I pictured myself having a teaching position in the university that I was studying in. I did not know that this is the visualization technique mentioned in The Secret, but I imagined myself having my own office in the department like my professors and lecturers, and people calling me “Doctor.”
I studied hard and got a PhD scholarship right after my bachelor degree which seemed to be very ideal. Yet, things did not go smoothly during my PhD research. No one could support me. I struggled a lot and there were many points where I thought I was helpless and hopeless. I also worried that I would be unemployed in the academic field and nobody in other industries would need a PhD degree job applicant.
Years gone by and my scholarship period ended. I was not able to complete my research within the time frame, but needed money to support my living. I started to do some part-time lecturing for the department for a year, but the income was not stable and the job had no prospects.
I was all alone in the dark.
By chance, I came across The Secret movie in 2010. I found it very inspiring and started recommending The Secret and The Power to all my friends to read. I have learnt from The Secret that I have been rather a good manifestor in many areas of my life. I started visualizing and reinforcing my belief that I would be able to get a full time teaching job in the university with my own office. I acted as if I have already got the job by helping various research events.
Believing is seeing.
Amazingly, I was told that there was a full time teaching position recruitment in the department and I applied for it. It was competitive and I was turned down in the first round. I felt frustrated but kept on visualizing and trusting myself that I would get the job. To my surprise, after six months and a week after my PhD thesis submission, I received a call from the university saying that one of the chosen candidates had withdrawn, and they were asking me if I would be interested in taking up the full time job.
I got the job that I want!
It took me ten years time, but I have made it with faith.
Thanks to the Universe. Thank you The Secret for reinforcing my belief in times of darkness.
