I got my GOLD MEDAL
Submitted by: Nikon G.
Pattaya, ThailandI am an inspired Taekwondo athlete and a believer in the universe.
I have been training and competing in Taekwondo for 10 years, and I dream about getting a gold medal, getting on the Thai National Team, and going to the Olympics. For a long time I have been competing at tournaments and trials without any success. I always lost the first match or never got past the 2nd match. I began to doubt myself and felt like it was not possible for me to win; I was not good enough or I did not deserve to win. These emotions sunk deep inside me.
After reading The Secret, things started to change and I started to understand my emotions a lot better. All of my negative emotions that I sent out to the universe were just saying, Dont make me win, because thats all I keep saying to myself – I cant win. So I started to change my tune. I put up my vision boards and started to write in a journal with positive phrases such as, I am so happy that I won a gold medal. I even visualized myself winning too. I also visualized a lot of other things as well, which all manifested in their own way, and I was very, very grateful. I even met the love of my life, who happened to be a well-known Taekwondo athlete who is on the Thai National Taekwondo Team. She began to help coach me and I started to get better and better. I also attracted to myself a lot of well-known coaches and athletes to train with. So I knew I was getting close, yet the gold medal was still not there and I was still losing matches.
So I started reading The Power and I understood The Secret better! All this time my desire for winning a gold medal was not coming from love for winning and gold medals and success, it was coming from not having gold medals and not winning. So I changed my tune again. I started to create the feeling of having already won, and getting gold medals and achieving success. I started to feel calm and confident.
A week later I went to a big University Taekwondo tournament, 500 or more people attended this tournament. It was BIG. I had to fight 3 matches and win to get the gold medal. Before my fight I kept creating good feelings and telling myself how much I love this sport and competing and how happy I was to be here with all my friends. The first match was shaky but I won 4-3. It only got better after that! I won the 2nd match 10-0. And then the final gold medal match came up. I just re-affirmed to myself how much I love winning and how good it felt to win. I won the gold medal match 10-5!! I DID IT!!! The gold medal match was beautiful, and it was everything I expected it to be. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. It was a dream come true. I was able to create this because I created LOVE for SUCCESS and LOVE for WINNING.
With this new found confidence, I BELIEVE that I can create anything and do anything that I wish by creating LOVE for it first. I can feel the feeling wash over me like a calm, soothing warmth when I do.
Next step, Thai National Taekwondo Team, and after that, the OLYMPICS!! See you there!!
To every other athlete, dont give up. Love yourself and love your game. You can do it! Thank you Rhonda Byrne and her amazing team for bringing a truly amazing and powerful gift to the world. THANK YOU!
