My wife and I had talked about moving out of our current hometown as we are both teachers and there was no good paying work for us there.

Less than one month from this conversation I got a call from a school about three hours away. They had found my resume on a social networking website which I hadn’t updated in over six months. The salary they offered was double of what I was making in my current hometown.

I got the job, it was only 20 hours a week and I was bored in city I knew nothing about. After telling a friend the same story, he reminded me again about The Secret, and how I put it out to the universe that I wanted to move out of the city for a better paying job.

I thought it was kind of silly, but I decided to take his word and watch the movie. It really inspired me, I watched it 20 times. I immediately told my wife about it and told her how to apply it. Then when we would have dinner together we would take turns saying what we are thankful for before we ate.

Very shortly after, I got another job working from home, which doubled my income again and then my teaching job turned into full-time. My wife’s school board offered her a job about an hour from were I was working, without an interview even.

Then we needed to buy a house and move within 20 days because that is when she started her new job. So we started to look at houses and when we found the house we wanted I took the picture of the house off the real estate website and put our family into the picture complete with our cars parked out front. We printed it out and put it on our refrigerator so we could picture it everyday. When it came time to put a package together with our financial details for the mortgage company, we put that same picture on the front of the package.

We closed the house in 13 days and moved in shortly thereafter.

I am a true believer and when I think back to other times in my life when I inadvertently was applying the same techniques and the universe was granting my wishes, I knew this was real.
