Hurricane Sandy Thank You All!
I have lived in New Jersey for most of my life and was shocked to learn that a superstorm named Hurricane Sandy was headed directly towards us. We live in southern NJ and we were quite literally in the center of where Sandy was set to strike. Quite honestly, most storms are blown out of proportion, but this one seemed different.
We prepared the best we could. I had been reading The Secret, The Power, and The Magic, and have been trying to apply their teachings. If anytime was a good test, this would be it. As the day of Sandy arrived, I began giving thanks to everything, the strong trees that surrounded us, the drains that flowed freely, the house which was strong and secure.
What happened was amazing!
We were in the direct strike zone and the howling wind and swaying trees could have easily broken and crashed through the house, but they didn’t. We lost power, like the other 60 million households, but I knew that it wouldn’t be off for long.
I gave thanks again for absolutely zero property damage. I gave thanks to the utility crews who came in from other states and were working day and night without stopping for proper meals. I had said 24 hours after we lost power that the electricity would be on either that evening or worst case the next morning, despite the 7-10 days that we were told.
And then after tucking in the kids and ourselves with multiple layers of blankets, my husband and I woke up 2 hours later sweating.
The heat and power were back on only 26 hours from when we lost it!
I had little doubt as to why this occurred, as I believe in the LOA, but I remain, nevertheless, in extreme gratitude for all that we have, for all that was saved, and for the countless people who helped us. This was no accident, it was the LOA at work!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
