I hope my real life story will inspire all those young couples out there.

During the recession, my husband lost his job and that was exactly a year after we were married. I took a pay cut for ten months and he lost his job. Our financial situation was really worrisome and day after day we had quarrels and tension, all because of lack of money. I knew we had to get out of that situation, and we badly needed to do it right away. That’s when I learnt about ‘The Secret’.

The funny thing is somebody on a chat show on TV mentioned how she would always get whatever she wanted in life. I wasn’t even watching the show intentionally but that phrase just struck me. I immediately went and got the book and read it within a week and was absolutely blown away by the message. I realized we were actually attracting more of what we didn’t want because all the focus was only on what we didn’t want. I gave the book to my hubby and he read it as well. We decided to change our lives deliberately.

The first thing to happen was my husband found his dream job, the one which he always came so close to getting and it would always slip through his fingers. The important thing here is, he was paid twice more than what he wanted and it was from a company to which he never applied, and he had to join right away as they needed an engineer right away for that position. From no job to a very low paid job to his dream job, was more than what we wanted.

Our finances got much better, and our relationship grew better again. We have so much money now that we bought our own pool-facing condo, and have all the money to renovate and buy all that I wanted to have in my dream home. The most exhilarating thing about our home is we never thought we could buy a condo and were only looking at a normal flat, and the universe provided us with something we could not even dream of. All we did was watch the movie over and over again, talk about our dream being fulfilled, and kept the faith.

We kept attracting everything we needed. Of course it took a long time to manifest but we didn’t lose hope and never gave up. Every time something didn’t go our way, I would tell myself, “You have something better in the offering.” We would always tell each other, “It’s just around the corner and it is on the way.”

It all feels like a fairytale when I look back. We don’t worry about money anymore; we keep spending all that we have in hand and truly believe the universe will meet all our supplies, as and when required. With no money left in hand, we’re planning for an African safari holiday, and truly believe the universe will provide us, guide us through, and make it all happen. Our close kith and kin are noticing the difference in our lives and asking us how it all happened, and guess what? We’ve been recommending ‘The Secret’ literally to everyone we know. There’s so much joy when they come back thanking us for letting them know about this book.
