The Secret And New York City Trip
I am your typical teenage girl, a girl who wants to be loved, a girl who wants to be successful in the future, have perfect health and most importantly be happy.
I was first introduced to The Secret when I was 15, at first I didn’t understand it at all, I was confused. But after doing more research on it I started to understand it.
I read The Power, The Magic and Hero. I have The Secret Gratitude Journal. I wanted to read/do every single thing I could do that would change my thoughts and my world.
My biggest dream I wanted to come true was to visit New York City. I don’t know why I wanted to go so badly, maybe because it’s a city full of dreams, a city full of happiness, a place to go to before you die, but I craved it more than anything. I wrote down on my list awhile ago that I wanted to go to New York with my family, visit the 9/11 memorial, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and mostly Times Square. My favorite show also was Law and Order SVU which is filmed in New York which made me want to go even more.
To get myself to attract New York I would look at photos online and visualize myself there. I would visualize the yellow cabs, the crowds of people walking, the honking of horns and I bought a phone case of New York to look at. At my work I would see all sorts of New York stuff and I would buy it in a heart beat. I watched The Wolf of Wall Street, I listened to New York songs I did everything you could think of, basically I just shared my love of New York every day. I didn’t think too much about the getting there, I just focused on my love for it.
One day I was at work and I got a text from my mother telling me to take certain days off in August for vacation. New York never crossed my mind, I just thought it would be Toronto. My sister and I begged our parents to tell us where we were going, and finally they agreed.
As soon as I heard the words “New” I screamed as loud as I could and cried, we were going to New York City!!
I was crying of happiness, my dream was coming true! The first thing I did was thank the universe, I screamed “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”.
When we got to the airport to go on our flight, our flight was the only one that didn’t get delayed for seven hours by the weather that was occurring. Once again I thanked God, we were meant to go on this trip, nothing was going to happen to my dream trip.
To say the least, New York was everything I could have dreamed of. I went to the Statue of Liberty and as soon as I saw it with my own two eyes I cried tears of joy because I finally really understood The Secret. I understood how to make my dreams reality.
All I can say is, I am truly grateful for my parents, The Secret, the universe and God for making this happen for me.
Don’t give up, don’t think negative, be grateful for everything. When I close my eyes I can still see the bright lights of beautiful New York from the top of the Empire State Building.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
