I’d been wanting a Mercedes for around a year. My income was extremely low at the time and I had house payments and children to raise. There was no chance of me ever having one.

One day I was with a cousin at the dealership and I saw the one I really wanted. I went over and sat in it. I soaked up how beautiful it was inside and the luxury features, even the seat-shaped controls for adjusting the seat. I put my hands on the steering wheel and closed my eyes and imagined what it must be like to own that car. I imagined it for a moment then accepted that I might never have one but was happy for those who could. Then I let it go peacefully.

My cousin saw this outpouring of love for the car and decided to buy me one as he was very wealthy. At first, I didn’t accept it, but for the next few months he kept insisting and wouldn’t let it go. Eventually I ended up with the next model up from the one I had sat in!

I love that car so much as it is so beautiful to be in and has amazing safety features. I am grateful for it every single day and I am grateful for its reminder, that even the impossible can happen.
