Home Sweet Home
I’ve been reading and practising the Law of Attraction for years, now it hasn’t eventuated in my inner most dreams materials just yet (I know it will) however it has had a profound effect on my life. Today I realised what a pivotal role the Law of Attraction has played in my life and since the stories I read on the Secret website get me through the tough times I hope I can do the same for others by sharing mine.
Writing this I’ve realised how much I’ve taken for granted by starting right now I am only going to express gratitude for everything in my life and everything I want in my life.
I moved to the UK from Australia several months ago and was lucky enough to find a job relatively quickly (I attracted it). The job was in London however and I was living a few hours out of the city which posed a distinct problem of commuting every day. I was to start the job the after the offer by having no where to live managed to push it back a few days. I frantically search for somewhere to stay but was restricted in my options as I did not have enough money for a months rent and deposit as is generally required.
I luckily found a a house share in a perfect location for three weeks. The landlord was selling and all the current sharers were moving out. The girl whose room I took only wanted three weeks rent (just within my budget) and no deposit as she had found another property and had to move in early. It was exactly what I wanted, amazing location, good sized room, nice house mates and I thought the three weeks would be enough time for me to find somewhere permanent. Unfortunately, my job wasn’t what I expected it to be and I became very negative and ungrateful. My boss was a nightmare and I allowed it to infect and corrupt my state of mind as it was all I focussed on.
So, the day before I had to move out I was again in a panic as I had no where to go and hadn’t been paid so again couldn’t afford a deposit for a permanent house share. This made me even more resentful of my job so the best living situation I could materialise was a small box room in a boarding house. The room was so small I could touch both walls with out even stretching my arms out fully and it was in a horrible area but it was a roof over my head and affordable so I tried being grateful again. I stayed there for two months, not socialising with anyone and there was no lounge and everyone locked themselves in their rooms. I felt incredibly isolated and depressed and kept thinking about my old house share which I wanted back.
Here I want to point out that so much of The Secret the gratitude and visualisation is about releasing tension. Being ungrateful, being unhappy, being miserable about a situation is all tension against what you want. I got to the point where I gave up and started being happy with what I had (it wasn’t so bad afterall, people are sleeping in gutters) and as soon as I did that all my negativity and tension was released and I materialised a perfect home.
Not just any houseshare mind you. I found the EXACT same house with the same floor plan only four doors up from where I had originally been staying. Also, the room was exactly the same room as I had before. To top it off the rent is dirt cheap (at least 300 pounds cheaper than the average for the same area). I was astounded. I couldn’t believe it! I found exactly what I wanted and all because I practised the law of attraction.
The most amazing bit about it was the room was only available because the girl vacating was immigrating overseas permanently. Well, turns out she didn’t and is back in the UK after only a month of being away and is now staying on the couch until she can move into her new place.
I now have a great house share, a great social life (all the house mates are friendly and sociable) and am looking for another job. I’ve already received calls for interviews including one from a huge national company that received over 20000 applicants a year.
The point of the story is if you release all the tension and utilise the law of attraction the Universe will move walls, boundaries and even people for you to make it happen.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. To everyone who posted stories and comments on the website and to Rhonda and the Secret team and all the other amazing individuals who teach the same philosophy I am eternally grateful – you’ve changed my life!.
