Houston, TXSingle mom with a daughter in college.
My daughter is in college and received an opportunity to do study abroad. I am so excited for her and pledged to her that I will make it happen.
It is expensive and I am a single mom, so I scraped, sold some items online, took out payday loans, even cashed in some change. I do this so I can pay my bills, pay for her college expenses and send her to study abroad, which I am still paying for.
This week it’s left me with a negative amount in my band account and $11 until payday, which is a week and a half away. I have enough food and some of my bills will be late, but I am left without enough gas money to cover this week and all next week. I am racking my brain on how to get $20 to be able to drive to work and back home.
And then I told myself over and over on the drive into work “money come easily and frequently” and believed that some way some how I would have that gas money.
I come into work, sat at my desk, and my supervisor comes over to me with a envelope and a card inside that said Happy Administrator’s Day with a $25 gift card inside.
I am amazed and a little dazed! I am overwhelmed with gratitude and awe!
All I keep saying is thank you, thank you, thank you.
I had no idea it was Administrator’s Day and I had never received anything before for this particular work holiday. I am so thankful and grateful!
