Got My Permanent Residence Visa.
Submitted by: Grateful
Johannesburg, South AfricaI am a young woman who is just starting to live her best life.
I am a foreigner in South Africa. I applied for permanent residence in July 2016 and was told I would have the outcome in 8-10 months. That turned into a year, another, then another. I had known about the law of attraction for a while but I couldn’t completely understand what I needed to do. I felt confused when LOA gurus taught to accompany my desire with emotion, then said to release it into the Universe. Anyway, I came across an article that mentioned “The Secret”. I started reading up on it and even landed on this site and read other believers’ stories. I was hooked and I knew I needed to get the book.
I got the book at the end of December 2018. I immediately got to reading it and I couldn’t put it down. I started putting it to the test with small things in my daily life, like declaring how beautiful my day would be, believing it and walking out the door and stepping into my beautiful day. I started working on a very stressful project at work and it was near-impossible to find most of the information I needed. We needed to submit this information to the revenue authorities. After 3 months of working on it without not much progress and sleepless nights of worrying, I decided I was going to try and apply what I had learned from The Secret. I started visualizing my boss saying I didn’t need to find this information anymore and that I could move on with my other work. I started feeling grateful for the amount of work I had put behind me and for how stress-free my job was. Of course, this wasn’t the case as yet but this was part of the believing process, expressing my gratitude as if my desire had already manifested.
A few weeks later, I was told not to bother looking for the info, the revenue authorities didn’t even ask for it. Wow!!! My first big manifestation after learning about The Secret. I was convinced now, I became a believer. This was when I decided this works!
Since I had been waiting for close to 3 years for my permanent residence visa, I decided to now use the LOA on it. I had submitted another application for a temporary visa that needed to be transferred on to a new passport and this had taken a year instead of 8-10weeks.
I downloaded a picture of a permanent residence visa and kept it on my tablet to help me visualize getting it. I would look at it, visualise my name written on it, visualize getting it, feeling the paper in my hands and feeling the happiness come over me, visualize my tears of joy and I even started shedding real tears at that point. Then I got up and continued on with my life. I had sent out the message to the Universe and there was no need to keep wondering about it.
Not too long after that, I received an email from the Department of Home Affairs that my temporary visa was ready for collection. No!!! That’s not the one I want, the Universe got it wrong! I said I want the permanent residence visa. Ok, what now? I wasn’t going to sit and cry and question what the Universe just did. I thought this must be a sign and I’m on the right path.
I decided since this wasn’t the visa I really wanted, I was going to wait for the one I wanted and it would come in a bit. This was me believing. My mother tried to get me to go collect my temporary visa and I would just tell her I was feeling too lazy to go and I felt like it would waste my time to go and then have to go back again to collect the permanent residence visa. I would sometimes laugh at myself for senselessly believing in this. The temporary visa was expiring soon and would need to be renewed, but I really had no motivation to go collect it.
After about 2 weeks of this, I contacted a lawyer to find out if they could appeal on my behalf to the Department of Home Affairs to release the outcome of my permanent visa, and they were going to charge me $1,000. I wasn’t prepared to pay that, even though I had the money. Using the LOA is free so I continued believing and being happy.
In another week I sent an email to the Department of Home Affairs to follow up and they usually respond after a few weeks. I got a response the next day. I was told they had finalized my application and I should wait for a notification to collect it, which I got a few days later. I went and collected my permanent residence visa, together with the temporary visa, which was pointless at this point but I collected it anyway.
That is my story. I think it took 2 months from the time I started visualizing getting my permanent visa to the time I had it in my hands. What I had waited for 3 years for, only took the LOA 2 months!
I will post more of my victories with time. Thank you!
