Good People Who Inspire Me
Submitted by: Lauren C
Queens, New YorkNewly Registered Nurse, 22 years young, applying the principles of The Secret to my life and living to my full potential.
Sitting down in Bryant Park, I was applying The Secret to my life. I always told myself that I wanted to meet new friends who I can have a more meaningful conversation with, different from the usual gossip and talking about current events. I wanted people who could inspire me and empower me. Well, I told myself that I would meet someone today. It could be anyone and this person will approach me.
I saw this girl and guy walk by me, and next thing you know they came up to me and started speaking to me. I was kind of in shock and at the same time I knew this was because I attracted them to me. Next thing you know they were the kind of people I’ve wanted to meet. They’re part of a Christian group who welcome different religions. My day was meaningful, meeting other people who have such great energy, who love God, and aren’t afraid to talk about him. Usually, religion is taboo to my friends, acquaintances, and especially strangers.
I loved what they’re about and their thoughts on life. It’s amazing how welcoming they are, and how they reminded me to appreciate my life and how my actions are for God. They reminded me that nursing is such a great path, helping and serving others. This is the path God wanted me to follow. I was reminded why I wanted to be a nurse, and how I am giving to others. From this I know good things will happen. I love the positive energy I gained from them. They’re amazing people who don’t focus on relationships, but on the path to where God wanted them, their purpose.
Exponential Potential was the topic the Pastor spoke about. It is true because we can do anything we want. When we think something, we should be able to act upon it. There are no limits in our lives, nothing should hold us back. Love brings us to what we want. It motivates us and leads us to goodness. I’m so glad I met my new friends today.
