God Always Listens!

ScotlandI am a 62 year old Scottish. I am an eternal optimist and am very grateful to God and the Universe for giving me such a brilliant life doing what I love to do and being in places I adore.
I am a 62 year old Scottish lady born with the travel bug and most happily uncured!! I have a house in Portugal and despite the Covid pandemic, I still love to travel.
I want to first say thank you to Rhonda for writing The Secret books which have changed so many lives. Thank you too for introducing the idea of a Gratitude Journal. Sometimes I am just so grateful I can hardly wait to write down my words of thanks to God. He has given me so much to be grateful for. Here is just one example:
I spent two months last winter on Guadeloupe island in the Caribbean as a volunteer. I took a week off to stay on the Saintes islands. On the morning of my departure, I was concerned about my travel plans for the day, returning to the main island and making my way over to Port Louis where I had my next placement. So as I passed the pretty little island church, I just stopped for a couple of minutes to thank God and the Universe for making it all work out perfectly for me.
This is what happened:
I got an earlier boat than I expected to Guadeloupe. On arrival at the other side, I first asked in a cafe where the bus stop was. He had no idea and said I had to take a taxi. I knew this to be untrue as I prefer to walk or go by public transport. However, around the corner was another cafe and that owner was very friendly. He gave me directions but first of all, invited me in for a fruit juice which was such a kind gesture and much appreciated.
However, once I started walking to the bus stop I saw that it was an incredibly steep walk and I was pulling a suitcase. However, 2 minutes later and totally out of the blue, this lovely young lad walks up to me and offers to pull my suitcase for me. He was kind and very chatty and we chatted about my trip to his gorgeous island.
Then 5 minutes later a car stops at the side of the road. It is the kind cafe owner’s wife stopping to take me to the bus stop which was a few KM away. Once there, I only had a few minutes to wait and the bus for the island’s capital arrived. I told the driver I needed to get to Port Louis and could he please show me where to get the bus for there once we arrived in the capital. Well once we arrived he actually took the bus totally off the designated route to get me to the Port Louis bus stop!!!!
And as I am sure you have guessed, the Port Louis bus wasn’t long in arriving. In fact, it was so early that I arrived in the morning at my next volunteer placement instead of the late afternoon!
My story shows that God and the Universe are always there for us and there are amazingly beautiful and kind people living on our lovely planet. Thank you!
