Taipei, TaiwanI'm a 23 year old LOA faithful Taiwanese-American student.
It’s funny how life goes…all three books (The Secret, The Power, and The Magic) came into my life during times I most needed them.
This story took place on 10/17/2012
So I’ve been studying GMAT since the beginning of August, taking classes and doing practice questions and all that…But no matter how hard I tried and how confident I was, my practice test scores had never been higher than 660 (max = 800), which was around 90 points below my target. So as you may have guessed, I was a little frustrated; it wasn’t that I didn’t believe I was good enough, but more like I felt that the questions were fooling me around.
Despite all that, sometime in September, I registered to take GMAT on 10/17.
The Magic came into my life on 10/1. The previous experiences with the other 2 books got me to trust The Magic right away, and I started on the 28-day journey.
One of the exercises was to list my top 10 desires and then visualize them. Well, given that I was going to take GMAT in a few days, the first desire I wrote down was that I wanted a 750+ score on GMAT.
I practiced the drill for a few days. And on the test day, 10/17, somehow I just decided to lower the bar a little bit, to 700+; I erased that 750 I wrote down and changed it to 700, and then left to take the exam.
The exam takes about 4 hours, with two 8-minute breaks in between. During the breaks, I just kept visualizing seeing my scores on the monitor, 45+ for quantitative, 40+ for verbal, and 700+ overall (max for quant and verbal are both 51), and saying “thank you” to the scores.
So finally, I was done with the exam. As the scores appeared on my screen, I laughed. Why? Because I got exactly what I asked for: quant 47, verbal 40, and 700 overall.
I was like…”man, maybe I should’ve stuck with 750″ hahaha. jk
Anyways, seriously. Thank you Rhonda, for bringing LOA to all of us; Thank you mom, for recommending the book to me; Thank you LOA, for literally everything. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
