For the longest time my partner and I struggled under the oppression of debt. We faced it all the time and fought about it frequently. We were overworked and wondered how we would ever get out. One day while I was at work my partner called me and said she had just found this video on our cable on demand service, and that I needed to watch it when I came home. She said it was called The Secret, and that I would be amazed when I watched it. Feeding off her excitement I watched it as soon as I could. I was amazed. We talked about it and wanted to share it with our whole family. We began to implement the power of attraction in our daily lives.

Before we knew it a friend of mine called and told me the company he worked for was hiring several new positions, and how soon could we have a resume ready? The job was a steady 40 hours a week, with nearly $6 an hour more in pay. My heart nearly thumped out of my chest. I told him to give me 24 hours and I would email him our resumes. We were called to interview not long after that. But then – the day after the interview – the company enacted a hiring freeze. We were devastated. But we continued to hold our spirits high and continued to check in on the status of the freeze. 8 weeks later we were hired.

Still through all this we continued to deal with our piling bills. Not long ago, this same friend of mine agreed to pay off our loans and credit cards so we could pay him without the interest. What a relief! Also, through this process we had been hoping for a laptop so that I could go back to school and work on a bachelors degree. Wouldn’t you know, unexpectedly my parents agreed to pay for one for me. And an even better one than I had hoped for.
