This story starts only ONE WEEK ago. Planning a 4-day sales trip to Atlanta from Jacksonville, I knew I had nearly 12 hours of drive time there and back. My audio book subscription had an available credit. After a good hour of searching for something that would help me in sales, I settled on The Secret.
As background, I have read the Bible, cover-to-cover, and classics like “Think and Grow Rich”. I thought I understood faith healing and I thought I understood the “prosperity message” that I had heard from the pulpit. The Secret lit up a room that I had previously only managed to groped within blindly, bumping into objects and guiltily frustrated that I could not leverage the things I knew I felt – and I felt I knew. I had convinced myself that I was unworthy of “The Gifts”. Hogwash! That’s like saying I am unworthy of gravity.
As of the 23rd I have been selling for a new company for exactly two months. The type of sales I do it is common to require four to six months to begin reaping sales within the pipeline.
I loaded the audio book on my mobile phone and from Wednesday, July 20, through Sunday, July 24, I listened and absorbed the teachings at every opportunity. The drive to Atlanta was way too short. I wanted to stay in the car and listen more. I had latched on and was not going to let go. I knew what I was hearing was true.
I “intended” to be prosperous in every way and set about deciding what that will look like. I asked for a river of sales, even though I had not yet landed the first deal. On Monday I landed not one, but two very nice deals. In fact, the second deal was a single phone call on the 22nd and a half-hour demo on the 25th. Done. Sales NEVER happen that fast with these type of sales. More on coming…
I am so, very grateful for the people who have created The Secret. It has changed my life. My daughters will all have the wedding of their dreams and, well, my “bluewater” catamaran is on order : )
