Tashkent, UzbekistanAn 18 year old Malaysian boy who is planning to go Pro in football (soccer) to play in a European club and get called to the national team.
As a boy growing up I have always had troubles. I used to think that ADHD was a curse to my life. I lost friends, got expelled from school several times, and never had a nice stable life. Everybody hated me, and I used to wonder, why do bad things always happen to me? I was never thankful for what I had, even though I was born in a fortunate family. I always felt like I’m missing something in life.
As I got older, I found my passion, to play football (soccer). Whenever I go onto the pitch to play, I forget about all the problems in life. It helped me naturally to use my ADHD as an advantage because I was able to hyper-focus. Since I loved the sport so much I decided that THIS is what I want to become when I grow up. I learned to use my ADHD to an advantage, but still felt something was missing in my life.
I moved to Uzbekistan when I was in 8th grade, and it was here where most of my dreams came true. One day during the summer holiday, I went to a bookstore to find a book which can help me change my life, and that is when I found “The Secret”. I started reading it and realized that I really did just find a secret. I found a secret that would help me change my life. It felt like I had just opened my eyes to see the world for the first time. I had little tears of joy when I started to be grateful for everything that I have in life, my life felt more complete.
I started applying “The Secret” to everything in my life. It is amazing what the result from using “The Secret” can bring and give to you! I used to blame other teammates if we play terribly in our school football league. The teacher used to complain about my attitude on the pitch, but after I used The Secret I got compliments from a lot of the teachers that used to complain about me. I was called up by the school’s Sports Director to take a coaching role for the grade 6-7 football team because they believed that I am a good example of a footballer for the younger kids.
I also started winning awards and trophies with the school team that I played in. In all my 5 years at the school, our team managed to win 4 international football tournaments and 1 local league trophy. Individually I got a 2 All-Stars award, 1 MVP award, 1 best attacking player award, and even had the honor of captaining the school team.
I was amazed by the little things that “The Secret” did. I managed to get the number 17 on my track and field team since it is my favorite number and the number that I always think about.
Then, something truly amazing happened to me in the year 2012 and 2013. In 2012, my dad was willing to send me to a football club camp in France (Paris Saint Germain). I even got the girl I had a crush on since 8th grade! It was truly amazing because my life totally changed! I manage to get a good skill test result in the camp getting 1st place in the test result category out of 78 other talented footballers from all over the world in the camp. The coaches there advised me to get a trial at a club in Europe because they believe my skill level was good enough for Europe. I am soon going to get an interview by the Malaysian press about the experience of being a Malaysian who got high football test result in a world class football club’s camp.
Recently in 2013, I managed to practice with the Under-19 National Team of Malaysia squad during the school’s winter break. I will continue training with them after I graduate school because I also need to get to university where I can get my coaching degree so that I can coach professional team after I retire myself as a player.
As you guys can see, my life was totally changed by applying “The Secret” to my life. I managed to change from the person that everybody hated, the person with great struggles in life, and the person who I thought was the worst person, to be the person that everybody envies. The person with a wonderful life, and the person who I think is the best person to be!
If there is one major thing that I learned from this book and would like to share with people is to always be grateful for what you have in life!
