From Rubber Bands To A $700,000 Building.

JapanHappily married mother of 2. Self -employed. I am a firm believer in The Secret.
Last year I wrote about going from rubber bands to concert tickets. This year I have stepped up. This year I was able to attract a $700,000 building that I only have to pay $200,000 yen for.
Before I begin I have to give a big thanks to Rhonda Byrne for The Secret and all the stars in the show who still help to teach it and help motivate others.
My story starts with my husband and I needing to make sure that our handicapped son will be provided for long after we are gone. He is a slow learner but can work, so we decided that we would have him open his own coffee shop. To do this we needed a building.
Since I am an English school owner and operator we decided it was time to build our own building. We talked to an architect and had him design it for us. Our budget was $400,000 including the land.
We found the land a little more than what we hoped for but decided it was the place. Then our designs came. Overall we were now looking at $500,000.
Something needed to give and in order to cut costs, the designer changed the plans but now the building was too small. I was not giving up on my dream. I wrote a Secret Check out for $500,000 with a date of March 30th on it. I put it on my vision board and then followed The Secret as I do every day. I knew my vision was going to happen.
Honestly two months later I had moments of fear but quickly shook them out of my head. Then I got so busy working I totally forgot about the date but was still looking for ways on how I could keep the dream without going over budget.
Then March 30th came and I didn’t even know the date. I was busy showing a new person from the States around town. We were talking about my dream and I happened to mention to my husband since we are free today, please call a new Realtor and see if they have land we can look at. He did and what happened was the Realtor said OMG I have the most perfect place for you. She said it’s not land but a building and asked us to keep an open mind.
We went to see the building. It was the biggest building I ever saw in our town, Japan has small buildings. It was only 10 years old and built by the best carpenters. Not only was it perfect for the school but it was perfect for the coffee cafe. When I saw the inside of the building it was as if someone had built it for me down to the wire. The furniture, the carpet color, the BR, etc. I was in awe! The building also came with a 2 story storage building and a 6 car garage.
Needless to say this was our building but we knew it would be out of our budget. But we still had to ask. When we asked the owner how much he told us that with the land and the 3 buildings it was worth $700,000. My husband and I looked at each other.
Then the owner said because you spend your time teaching our town English and help the community through volunteer work and because the coffee shop will help less fortunate people I will sell it to you for $200,000. I just about passed out. We of course agreed .
In the car as we were sitting there I realized it was March 30th. The Secret came through as a discount and not cash, but it came through.
My story doesn’t stop there. I will write again about the hibachi table.
In the meantime we are all moved in to the school, just celebrated it’s anniversary and we are working on getting the cafe open.
