I want to thank myself first, then Rhonda Byrne, for her amazing books: The Secret, The Magic, and The Power. I am so very grateful to my friend for introducing me to The Secret and the Universe. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
This is a long story, and I am sure it will help someone who is afraid to take a risk or has lost hope. I was introduced to The Secret about three years ago by a friend. At first, I thought I understood everything in the video, but nothing changed in my life. I questioned why it was not working until it hit me that I needed to pay attention to every word spoken, listen, and watch the video many times. Then my life changed significantly, but I wanted more and more. The following year, I sat down and wrote down all my goals. My first question was, “What do I want?” The next year, I decided to resign from work and relocate to the capital city because I felt unsatisfied and depressed, which led to heart problems. It was a scary decision. Everyone kept saying, “You will not survive in the big city. You don’t have a job, how will you cope? You will come back. But I kept saying, “Oh yes, I will survive.”
I came to Gaborone, and I sent my CV around, I got many interviews, but I still did not have a job. I started to question if I had made the right choice, but then I realized I was getting off track. I watched “The Secret” every day. When I took a bath, I listened to it. Before going to sleep, I listened and watched the video, but there was still no response from job interviews. Later, I received an interview for a position back where I was previously located. I wondered if it was a sign to go back, but I kept my head up high and decided to go for the interview. It went well, but I made it clear to the panel that I wanted a job in Gaborone, not where they intended to place me. After not receiving any feedback from them, I moved on with my life. I gave myself a deadline to find a job by September, but at that time, I had not received any feedback from the interviews I attended.
Then the deadline had passed, and I still had hope. I decided to use a vision board. Every day, I look at it and imagined myself going to work and attending workshops. I typed an offer letter, my desired startup salary, and benefits, basically, everything I wanted. I kept looking at it every day and believed in everything on that paper. In September, there was still no job. In October, there was no job. In November, I told myself, “Hell no, the year will not end until I get a call for a job.” I convinced myself that I did my best, and now it was time for jobs to start looking for me, not the other way around because I had already sent my CV to different companies. I visualized, I read “The Secret” and “The Power” every day, and then I started using the words: “I am that.”
I remembered that to everything I saw, I would say, “I AM THAT,” and focus only on what I wanted. Then, this week, I got a call from a company I had not even sent my CV to. They told me that the company that interviewed me a few months back recommended me. I shouted, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” to myself. Then they told me that they wanted me to start as soon as possible. Then they asked me to check my email. Immediately, when I got home, I went straight to check my emails, and there was my offer letter. To top it all off, it looked exactly how I wanted it, including the package which was triple what I had been previously earning!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I learned that when you follow your desires, focus on them, visualize, and be thankful every day for what you have, the Universe responds. Don’t be afraid to take risks in life.
