After a quick trip to Las Vegas on a four seat plane with my husband piloting and a couple of friends, we headed back home to Long Beach (my husband is a fabulous pilot, so the following was more for comfort than a feeling of fear). The trip over to Vegas from Long Beach had been mostly smooth with only a little turbulence felt; however the flight back was extremely turbulent for the first 20 minutes (the flight with head winds would be 3 1/2 hours). About 10 minutes into our flight, I began (under my breath) thanking the Universe for a perfectly smooth flight home and held a strong feeling of gratitude… I noticed that the turbulence would only start up again if I momentarily stopped feeling gratitude for the smooth flight home (and all of the wonderful things in my life I was grateful for). So, to keep focused, I began almost a whispering chant to the Universe of gratitude! I must say, it was not so much that the Universe was needing to be reminded (of course not) of what I had asked for, BUT rather I was needing to stay in the feeling of gratitude (and my mind kept wandering to all the evaluations/reports stacked on my desk that needed to be written before the next morning…So, you see, I was only able to stay in ‘gratitude’ and keep the feeling of gratefulness when chanting a thank you to the Universe for all the blessings in my life and for a wonderfully smooth flight home). Within 10 to 15 the turbulence ceased completely, and as I said earlier, the rest of the flight was PERFECTLY SMOOTH when I kept feelings of gratitude.

Now, looking back, it still amazes me how much power we hold in carrying out our desires – creating what we want to manifest in the Universe. That the Universe will give back to us whatever it is we have thought/felt, and how quickly we can change it for the positive or negative just with our thoughts and FEELINGS! (Our thoughts really do produce our feelings.) What a fabulous gift we have been given! I am so grateful to God/The Universe for the power to create what I desire in my life, and for these moments when the Universe reminds me and gently nudges me to take hold of the responsibility and produce the very BEST at that moment!
