I lost an excellent job after 9/11 and was working as a salesperson for the past 6 years. The ups and downs of the business were constantly stressful, no regular paycheck meant that it was either feast or famine waiting on a commission.
I finally decided to look for a job with a steady income and sent my resume out to a few companies in my area, including a huge corporation that I had applied with 2 years ago but who never even called me for an interview. I bought The Secret book on a whim and the next day got a call from that very same company.
On the day of the interview I fixed in my mind that I would not get the job I applied for but that a different opportunity would present itself for more money. It turns out that I interviewed with 3 different department heads for jobs that I would never have applied for because my education didn’t meet for their requirements!
Two days after the interview, I made a notation in my calendar that at 10:00 I would get a call from this company. My phone rang at 10:34 to arrange for a 2nd interview. My future boss, who I really connected with told me straight out that she would never have even looked twice at my resume but that she had a good “feeling” about me. Later that day I received a call from the head of Human Resources offering me the job I wanted for more money than they usually pay plus super benefits! I will be starting very soon and feel as though a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
To anyone who doubts The Secret, let me say that this truly does work! Let go of your preconceived notions and and focus on your dreams! Life is beautiful!
