I had hit rock bottom on a number of occasions. Points where we survived on $10 for food and I had to constantly ask family for help. I watched The Secret but things didn’t really turn out for me.

It wasn’t until I began to really take care of myself and not get so bent out of shape over things, what other people thought or when I saw people get things, and in my mind it felts like they didn’t have to work very hard to get it.

I started to meditate and get back to my authentic self. To turn my frown upside down. I had my vision board and I had my quotes on the wall. But I didn’t really look at it and I wondered why.

One day I had heard that a coworker had won the early bird draw for a local draw. I thought that I wanted that $100 ticket. I kept focusing on the grand prize of $50,000. I finally went in to get my ticket. I wrote $50,000 on all my calendars and even added it on my cell phone calendar. The Friday before the draw I told someone what I would do when I won and I was talking as if I had already won it. The day of the draw I wished everyone good luck on the draw. I still had in my mind that I would win but I let the universe take it over, still it was always in the back of my mind. I knew the draw was at 8 pm I was going to the website to see who had won when I got the call.

I had won $50,000 and today I pick up the cheque!

For me it felt as though it wasn’t until I was genuinely happy for other people’s good things that this happened for me.
