In the summer of 2014 I was laid off from my job. I found a temporary job at a shelter for homeless and at-risk young adults. It was a great place and I felt proud that I was part of their mission. A friend of mine who worked for a university suggested I check out the university’s job board, and apply to permanent jobs that were a good fit for me. I loved that idea, and began to use The Secret’s techniques with the thought that I already worked for this university.

I created a vision board, I read the Secret book over and over and carried it with me everywhere I went. I watched the movie as well and I became convinced my receiving this university job was something that had already happened. I was offered a job at a different company which seemed like a great opportunity. Also I wasn’t in a position to say no, so I accepted.

In the summer of 2016 I was laid off again. An interesting coincidence: the shelter for which I had previously worked was looking for temporary help again, so I worked for them while job searching. It felt eerie and also as though things were somehow lining up correctly for me this time.

I was more determined than ever to apply The Secret towards what I really wanted: a job at the university. I arranged my life in order to better accept this development which I was convinced had already happened; It simply hadn’t manifested yet. I created a better Vision Board. I used gratitude and unwavering faith that this job was already mine. I did not allow myself to think for one second that anything else was going to happen. This was already done and all I had to do was continue to feel grateful for my current and future circumstances, continue to feel unwavering faith, and know for a fact this job was something that already belonged to me.

After about six months or more accurately, two years and six months of applying The Secret to my life, I was hired by the university! I could not be happier or more grateful to finally have my dream job. I know how lucky I am and I continue to add gratitude and unwavering faith to everything in my life because my journey is far from over. Part of my gratitude is writing to you to tell my story. I don’t know how to thank you enough for teaching me these important lessons. Thank you!
