Dream Came True, Finally!

Pune, IndiaAn ambitious girl, aiming to get into the defense sector.
I studied electrical engineering and was selected through campus recruitment for the R&D department of a core company in Pune. Soon after college, I started working in the office. However, getting into the defense sector had always been on my mind since 8th std. So, I decided to apply as soon as the notification came in the newspapers.
Meanwhile, an office colleague casually mailed me a book called ‘The Secret.’ I read it and felt so lucky that I was able to get acquainted with this book.
I applied for the post of Assistant Commandant in the January batch of the ICG. I went to Mumbai for their preliminary selection and got shortlisted for the Final Selection Board, which was to be held in Noida.
I kept reading The Secret regularly and tried manifesting using the ‘Ask, believe, and receive’ process.
I did crack the final round! There were just six girls recommended from all over India, and it was indeed an achievement!
But then something unexpected and bad happened. I was declared unfit by the officials for two reasons:
1) Anaemia, because my HB level was 11, whereas the required level is 12.
2) Sequelace of Pulmonary Kochs. It is when a spot appears on my chest x-ray, which is due to TB that had been treated in the past.
I appealed to them for another round of medical exams. In the second round, the procedure was very delayed, and the person in charge of my medical file had somehow resolved to make me unfit to work there at any cost. It was so depressing that I felt like I was just giving up.
Meanwhile, I still kept applying The Secret and the law of attraction to receive the appointment letter for the post I applied for. However, I was once again declared unfit for the position in my 2nd medical.
Those officials showed that there was a spot, but they did not prove that it was harmful in any way. One of them even asked for a bribe.
I got to know from my friend that if I got a fitness certificate from a government hospital, it could help me get selected on the merit list.
So, I got the fitness certificate and was waiting for the 3rd and final medical, the decision of which would be final.
However, I did not receive a call or letter from them, so I sent a copy of my fitness certificates to them. It almost seemed that I wouldn’t get selected, but I did not give up.
I am reading The Secret daily posts and feeling really optimistic about my selection on the merit list. How it will happen is not my concern. I will let the Universe take care of that. I just know what the final outcome will be.
While the chances might seem very small, I am as optimistic as ever.
By the time you readers view this, I will be off to my training in Kerala.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! And thank you for your patience in reading such a long story. I am so very grateful to you, dear readers, and also to the Universe.
