Dog Attack Right Back At You.
Submitted by: Dan I.
Los AngelesI'm a married Dad with a 3 year old son and a large dog.
This literally just happened but the story starts a couple of weeks ago. Every morning I walk my dog with my son in the stroller. My dog is a large bulldog mix around 70 pounds and he does not get along with other dogs. We have never had an incident until a couple of weeks ago. I made the mistake of letting Julius trot out the door unleashed ahead of us while I went back inside for the stroller. All I heard was a little dog barking and I knew what was happening. Julius had the little dog in his mouth and was subduing him, to be polite. The little toy poodle emerged with some superficial wounds that turned out to be worse than they originally seemed and I had to enact my homeowners insurance to cover the vet bill. I should have been more appreciative that it was not worse, but I wasn’t. I was mad at myself for being irresponsible and worried about additional problems with this little dog that would result in a lawsuit. That coupled with other things in my life caused me to send out the wrong messages. And sure enough, an hour ago I was walking Julius with my son in the stroller when a large stray pitbull came flying from across the street right at us and came to blows with Julius. I was able to keep him at bay but Julius has a superficial wound. He will be OK but I kept thinking about the irony of this moment and how I probably brought it on myself.
