I felt the need to share my story after reading hundreds of others these past few weeks and finding such comfort in them all. My story goes back probably about 5 years ago.

A few days before my 21st birthday I received an email of rejection from my dream job and the day after, I split with my boyfriend. Needless to say I never celebrated my birthday that year, my life was falling apart around me. I slipped into a deep depression. I got to the point where my anxiety became so bad I never left the house for months on end. Nobody could help me, nobody could understand what was going on inside my head. I couldn’t understand how my life could get any better. There were dark days where I contemplated the things we don’t like to talk about, but I’m pleased to say I’m still here and ready to tell my story.

A year later, after a year of self pity and self loathing, I went to see a fortune teller. She knew everything, she told me I had tried to read The Secret a year before, and threw the book at the wall because I thought it was a load of crap. This was true, I’m embarrassed to say! She told me I wasn’t ready to read The Secret back then but now I was. That night I started to read The Secret. My main focus was my career, the job of my dreams, my high flying glamorous career that I had spent my whole life dreaming about!! I made a vision board solely on this career. I stuck my head on other flight attendant’s faces, there were planes, and sunshine and bikinis and burj khalifas and pretty gems and rhinestones to make the vision board pop! I put it in clear view, so that when I sat up in bed every morning it was the first thing I saw. I then made another vision board with countries I wanted to visit, designer shoes and bags I wanted, a full set of veneers, handbags, you name it.

For a few months nothing much happened, but I still said my gratitude every night and I still looked at my vision boards every morning. I already knew I was receiving what I wanted, so I started going out buying new suitcases, bikini’s, beach towels ready for my big move to the Middle East. My family thought I was beyond crazy, but it was making me happy so they left me to it.

One Friday at work in my office job, I noticed they were holding an open day the next day for the job I wanted in a hotel in the city I lived in. I felt an urge that I needed to go. The next day I went. I made it through an open day of over 200 people.

Fast forward to 10 weeks later. I received the call of my dreams! I was moving to Dubai two months later to live my dream. I cried, my family cried, everyone cried. I’d finally done it, not only did this come true, I got my Hollywood smile the week before I left the UK. As I write this story I can tell you I have every pair of designer shoes I had on my vision board and the Chanel bag I will have by Christmas!!! Every city, every country on that vision board, I’ve been to, I have done it!! I write this whilst sitting by the pool in the Seychelles!!!
