DNA Surprise 49 Years In The Making.
Submitted by: Judey R
Southern CaliforniaI am 50 years old and finally found who I am after many years. I have two grown boys and 5 granddaughters.
I found out I was adopted at 21 when my first son was born. I searched many years for my bio family but could not find them. I gave up my search over 10 years ago when I moved to California from the east coast.
I took a DNA test to confirm that I was indeed Italian after my boss wanted a DNA test for her dog. The results were amazing. I had located my birth mom and family through matches. When I reached out to my birth mom, I did not know it was her niece, who did not know her aunt had a baby. After she confirmed that there was indeed a match with her family, she met with her aunt and asked her what she did on my birthday. Her aunt replied that she had a baby girl. So she asked her aunt what happened to the baby and she replied that she had died. She asked if her aunt had received a death certificate or birth certificate and she said no. Well her niece had to tell her the baby, me, was not dead and she was alive in Southern California.
There is so much more to our story but the point is that neither of us was looking for each other consciously but fate and a higher power put us together. My mom is currently living with me in Southern California. She instantly became a mom, grandma and great grandma!!! It is so amazing and we are very thankful and love sharing our story to help others!!! Thank you for reading this.
