Disney trip better than expected

I listen to The Secret in the van while driving the kids to and from school. We had heard the story of the young boy who had wanted to not stand in line at Disney, and both my children wanted to be like him. We had planned out our trip, and had purchased our 5 day ticket. With them, you can get a “Fast Pass” to ride the rides at Disney, so I have to admit, I had planned that they wouldn’t stand in line, or at least not much.
I didn’t know much about the Fast Pass, but learned later on that you use the fast pass kiosk to “order” when your ride will be (these are only available on the 11 busiest rides in Disney and California Adventureland). If said ride is quite busy, you may have ordered your ride at 9:00, only to be told to come back at 3:00!! This I learned after The Secret stepped in and answered my children’s request….
Upon arriving in Disney, we proceeded down Main Street. Out of the blue, a woman grabbed me by the shirt sleeve and told me to “go down there, they’re giving away Fast Passes”. I said that I already had tickets, but she insisted, saying that these were different. I said ok, and wandered down the path. Turns out they were giving away “Dream” Fast Passes. These are like the fast pass, in that you don’t have to stand in the 2 hour line up, but instead of “ordering” my ride time, I could just proceed into the fast pass line. Wait time was cut down for all 11 rides from 2-3 hours to just 10-15 minutes.
Turns out we received these passes on the busiest day Disney has seen all Spring Break. Some rides were being shut down because the wait time was too long. To put it in perspective, I received 4 of the few (I was told 200) they give away a day, out of 5-10,000 visitors.
So, thank you, thank you, thank you. From the entire family. It made our trip!!!
