In September 2011, I received a speeding ticket. There were lots of things going on at the moment (mainly with my mom who has Stage 6 Alzheimer’s) and it was the unfortunate confluence of distracted driving, trying to keep up with the flow of traffic so as not to get squished like a bug, and a not-so-nicely placed speed trap. The ticketing officer advised me to ask for a hearing to get the ticket reduced. At the time (aka pre-The Secret and The Magic), I figured I’d at least get some money off and just take the hit on my insurance.

Fast forward to May 3, 2012 – my day in Court and Day 17 of The Magic and I have decided that I deserve to have this ticket dismissed completely – I am a very safe driver and, 99% of the time, follow the rules of the road closely. So, I begin using The Magic – with every step I took towards the Courthouse, I was saying “Thank you for giving me the words to say to get this dismissed. Thank you for this being dismissed.” As I sat waiting for my name to be called, I continued to be grateful for my speeding ticket being dismissed – I continued my mantra, pictured being told it was dismissed, how that would feel, how I would share the news with my friends – and, when the anxiety peaked, I would just repeat “thank you” over and over again.

After forty-five very long minutes, my name was called and I went into my hearing. The police officer read the violation and the Clerk-Magistrate asked if I had anything to say. I apologized and said that I had not – and would not – speed again. He looked at me for a very long moment and then said, “I’ll give you a break on this. Just promise it won’t happen again.” I made a very sincere promise and floated out of the Courtroom – relief and gratitude washing over me.

This is just the latest in the miracles that have happened since I started The Magic and I am so grateful to Rhonda and the entire Secret/Power/Magic team for their work – I have been telling everyone I know – co-workers, friends, my clients – about The Secret and will continue to do so.
