Desired Internship And Job.
Submitted by: Priyanka
IndiaI am a student and great believer in The Secret.
Since childhood, I wanted to be associated with the biology and genetics field, but after 12th I ended up doing engineering. In my second year I came across this field “Bioinformatics”. That is when I decided I was going to pursue my Masters in this subject. After engineering I started looking for internships in India for this field. Finally I applied to one in Chennai. I sent my resume and was waiting for the results. The deadline of results passed but I didn’t get any email. But even then I was relaxed and called the institute. They informed me to try next year, since they take interns only with reference. I was placed in an IT company but I had faith I would get an internship in my desired field so I never thought of working there. One day I was just sitting and talking to guests when I received an email that I have been selected as an intern. I would be getting Rs200 per day and also accommodations would be given. I was all ready for this opportunity. Then I successfully completed my internship for 2 months.
After the internship I left the Institute to study for my post graduate exams. During the internship my professor had told me that they need a computer programmer for their project and I can apply. But it took 3 to 4 months for the official job notification to be posted. In those months, I was just jobless but I used to practice gratitude and I would thank the Universe for giving me time to spend with myself. I got back to hobbies and was happy every day. Finally when I went for the job interview there were 3 positions available. I wanted to apply for position 2 but I was not qualified for that position. Also other people who had come for the interview were quite elder to me, had experience and were post graduates, unlike me. So I applied for position 1. There were many applicants for this position since it was the easiest. But I had faith that I would be selected. I gave the interview confidently.
When I was coming back on the train I got a call from my professor and he asked whether I would like to shift to position 2 because there are many applicants for position 1. And with utter happiness I said yes. Also my salary is much more than what the IT company where I was placed was offering.
I always carry the book “The Secret” with me and I have read it many times. Whenever I am down in my life I open the book and start reading it. Thank you so much Rhonda Byrne for sharing The Secret with us.
