Deprogramming Myself Was The Biggest Secret Of All!
Submitted by: JonesJourney
NJMarried to an amazing man living our amazing life!
My husband introduced me to The Secret on Netflix. I was immediately shocked by how negative I had been all of the time. I watched the movie, bought all of the books and started a journal. It was so hard to deprogram myself from skeptical to certain but I just kept reminders around me, on my desk, in my car, on my phone, on the mirror, wherever I could see them daily.
When I started The Secret journey me and my sweetie were living in a 3rd floor attic. It was tight, tight, tight! The neighborhood was not that great but the rent was low and I was able to save money. We finally had enough and started looking for a house. I didn’t know how we would afford something spacious and nice but anything was better than what we were living in.
I wanted a home with at least a two bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage with either an attic space for an office or a basement. I grew up in a house with four bedrooms, two bathrooms later 3, finished attic, basement, garage, and backyard. It was what I was used to and I refused to settle.
My realtor was a pitbull, she was fierce and amazing but she kept telling me it might be hard to find what I wanted in my price point. We saw a lot of houses but most were short sales or cash offers or just not us. A short sale was great money wise but I couldn’t image staying in that attic until the bank approved our offer and we just didn’t have cash.
We stared looking in April. We put in a lot of offers, but was either outbid or it didn’t pass inspection. Every month we told our landlord we might leave this month and got our letter ready just in case. I knew I was moving. I started buying small things for the house even though we didn’t have one yet. Finally, in October we found our house, put in a offer and was accepted!
Unfortunately, the seller bought the house as a short sale and the bank didn’t approve his offer when he tried to sell it to us. Yes, he was selling a house he didn’t own to me. My lawyer who was also amazing was crossing his T’s and called the bank just to make sure everything was legit! When he found out what happened and what could have happened to me he shut the whole situation down.
I had a choice, walk away or wait for the house. I chose to wait for the house. We had the seller and his lawyer by the you know what and to keep from losing their licenses they ended up giving me some extra stuff to make this all good!
We got our house! We love our neighborhood! We found better jobs! We are so much more happier! Everything fell in to place! Even though it seemed hopeless I stuck it out and the Universe in all its glory blessed us! Now on to manifest a family! Wish us luck! I wish you all luck and happiness!
