My mom told me about The Secret video. It was available for watch Instantly on Netflix, and she thought I would benefit from it. I sat down and watched it, and was so struck by the authenticity, and the feelings I had that I asked my husband to watch it with me. Then I went and checked the book out at our local library.

One thing I kept focusing on was the fact that they say not to even THINK of debt – even if you’re thinking about it from a viewpoint of, “I want to get out of debt.” Instead, I decided to focus on what I needed.

We had taken out a home equity loan/second mortgage on our home several years ago, after our first born set of twins were born. We had been struggling financially, and made the decision in order to get our debt into one lump sum from the credit cards that had overwhelmed us. I knew that I needed out of that second mortgage, and so, not knowing HOW it would happen (as The Secret tells us – the ‘how’ isn’t what we need to know), I decided I would ask for what I needed. I put it out there that I wanted a check for the amount needed to pay for our 2nd mortgage. This was the beginning of May 2012.

July 24, 2012, there was a FedEx envelope on my mailbox. When I opened it, there was a statement from our second mortgage holder telling us that we had qualified for a TOTAL PRINCIPAL FORGIVENESS FOR THE ENTIRE BALANCE OF OUR SECOND MORTGAGE!!!!!!!!! Every bit of it – GONE – erased.

We no longer have the second mortgage, and I firmly believe The Secret is what made this happen for us!!! Before using The Secret, we had cried and wished and worried about this payment, but after The Secret, and a totally different approach – it was GONE!!!
