Cured Of Multiple Sclerosis!
Submitted by: Kanika Juneja
Delhi, IndiaA firm believer of LOA.
I am extremely excited to share my experience with everyone!
I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called Multiple Sclerosis in October, 2014. M. S. is a neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. The worst thing about it is that there is no known reason behind it and medical science does not have any cure for it. Also, this disease, being progressive in nature, will cause a person to become disabled with time. Being an overachiever as I always was, this news came as a blow to me. My disease was particularly aggressive in nature and all of us started feeling extremely hopeless. Even when I knew about LOA, I would find it very difficult to apply it in my life when every doctor I went to kept saying that my M.S. was is incurable.
Two years later in April, 2016, I got my fourth attack and I became disabled on the right side of my body. That’s when I decided to apply LOA for real. Whenever I sat to pray I would cry tears of happiness, genuinely believing that I was totally cured. It took me some time to get to the believing part but when I did, I told everyone around me that I am perfectly healthy. From visualizations to affirmations I did everything to believe that I was perfectly okay. I felt this way for two months.
Then one fine day I went to attend a seminar conducted by the Multiple Sclerosis society of India. Normally, I would never go to attend anything like that. That day I went thinking I’ll learn some important yoga tips. Everything was normal but a little disheartening to see almost every patient in a wheelchair or with a walker.
Just when I was about to leave the venue, I came across a person who started speaking about stem cell transplants for M. S. He went on to explain that a stem cell transplant can halt the progression of the disease. He further explained that since I am not disabled at this time and if I got this transplant done, my disease would stop. I would not have any further progression and that for someone like me it could basically be a cure!!! I couldn’t believe my ears! On further probing I got to know that this transplant is being done outside India with a very expensive price, around $40,000 USD. This all happened back in June, 2016.
I applied every where outside India but the long waiting lists of 2 to 3 years discouraged me. And then I started to visualize myself in a completely healthy body after the transplant and that my transplant would happen at the right time at the best hospital with the cheapest price.
In October, 2016 I found out that this treatment was now getting started for the first time in Delhi, and it was at the lowest price I had heard of! I was thrilled!! To cut a long story short, I faced multiple challenges before the treatment including demonetisation at the last moment. I kept myself positive through it all and I kept thanking the Universe for getting my transplant done from the best doctor at the lowest price in the best hospital.
In January, 2017 I was the first patient to get it done! To my surprise, the side effects of chemotherapy were so minimal that even my doctors asked me what was I doing as the chemo did not seem to be bothering me or harming my body. I got discharged early, one week before the scheduled time and needless to say, my recovery after that has been on an unprecedented level!
I made a Facebook group named ‘Kanika’s HSCT Journey’ and have been counseling patients worldwide. I am trying to spread awareness about the disease. So far seventy patients have gotten their transplant done after hearing my story and are doing really well!
I am writing this story for every single person reading this to know that everything is actually possible. Even when you can’t see it in the first instance, even when the picture looks discouraging, keep having faith. Later you’ll realise that every single thing happened for a reason. My life has turned around 180° and so will yours!
Bless you, Rhonda! You’re amazing! Thank you for reading!
