Comparing My New Life
Submitted by: Jasmine K.N
London, UKI've lived in London my whole life. I am half Japanese and half English, and I've always had a mature personality for my age. I hope my story can engage you as well as some of the others have.
I am so thankful to have this knowledge at such an early age. I am thirteen years old and two years ago my life, like Rhonda’s, fell apart. My parents divorced, puberty started, I had few friends, and I was applying for secondary schools that didn’t want me.
It was so hard in the beginning. I watched the film, and picked out my favorite parts to watch every time I felt depressed about something. I used the given techniques, especially the part about listening to beautiful music. I took up the guitar and started teaching myself and learning certain parts from more experienced people.
My high school was not one I had been hoping for. It was the last option on my list. It could be called luck, but I knew what it was: The Secret.
Now my life is what I can call perfect. My high school is brilliant, I’m getting amazing grades, my friends are amazing, and my parents have settled down and found new, loving partners. I’m truly grateful.
I found new friends in the space of thirty minutes. I can now look in the mirror and think, ‘Wow, I look good today.’ Every day there is something to smile about. That can be ticked off my list now. Grades. Tick. Family. Tick. Health, double tick. Writing about it? Tick.
