Choosing My Job.
Submitted by: Katie
CaliforniaI am a mom to 3 little boys and a wife to a loving and hardworking man.
My first son was born 7 years ago and I was working as a classroom teacher. I was miserable because I had always dreamed of being a mom but working full time made me feel like I was not doing that.
I decided to create a new vision board for my career. I wrote these phrases, “I love my job,” “part-time work,” “work from home,” “flexible schedule,” and “stay-at-home mom,” as well as a salary. I did not know that a job like this existed but about 4 months later my friend told me about a conversation she had with a mom she met that happened to be a former schoolmate of mine. She worked for a charter school for homeschool students and her job fulfilled every vision on my board.
It sounded too good to be true but I applied, interviewed and 5 months later turned in my resignation at my school. I let them know that I was leaving to become a teacher for homeschooled students.
It truly was such a blessing as I later went on to have 2 more kiddos and have been able to be home with them more than if I were a classroom teacher. Thank you, Universe! Thank you to The Secret!
