Changing for Good!

Trinidad, ColoradoPersonal Trainer who has been helping people for 20 plus years in the health and wellness field. I have 4 step children, 1 new grandchild, and live on 35 acres with 2 dogs, 1 cat, lots of equipment and a hard working husband.
I have always been puzzled why my personal training clients can’t seem to stay with their program long enough to see change in their life, physical or mental. So I came to the conclusion that it is hard for people to change habits and turn their life around. Maybe they don’t want the health benefits, trimmer figure, whatever it is… something is stopping them from reaching their goals or dreams. Even though good health is a priority and they think they have the motivation to change, old habits always creep into their lives and they fall back into the old way of things.
As I thought more about this, I thought, I should practice what I preach. I too was falling back on my work out routines, letting life get in the way of taking care of myself. So this month (March 08) I started my 21 day plan of listening to “The Secret” in my car every day.
It takes 21 days to change a habit. One of my bad habits is believing that because I live in a poor, unpopulated area that my business won’t thrive… and so it is, because I believe! I went as far as not to even solicit business because I don’t want to face the challenge of changing people’s minds. That if they want what I have they will come to me. I decided that I needed to change my view of things and start believing that I can reach my dreams and my goals and the only thing that is stopping me is the way I think! I know that, but old habits die hard and I was raised with a father who would worry, fret, and think of the “storm” while the sky was still blue… basically my husband says I have a negative sign in the middle of my body!
So now life will change… I’m looking forward to how my mind is going to think after I finish my 21 days… 12 more to go!
