I guess that I had been utilizing “The Secret” unknowingly for a couple of months before I read the book. There was a house out in the country that my husband and I were hoping to buy. The house had quite a bit of damage and was unkempt, but had great potential. It was going up on the auction block in just a matter of weeks in a local sherriff’s sale.

My husband and I drove past that house, dreaming of owning it every weekend until it came up for auction. We had envisioned what it would look like after it was cleaned up and we were the new owners. When the day of the auction came up, we were very nervous, but there was only one other bidder there. We won the bid!!!!!

Now came the time to put our old house on the market. The real estate market in Indiana is not good right now, and we had our house on the market for six months while working on our new house. We had lots of lookers, but no bites. It was getting to the point that we were going to be in financial trouble if we couldn’t sell our old house soon. That is when I stumbled across a copy of “The Secret”.

After reading “The Secret”, as often as I thought about it I would envision myself standing in the old driveway, and putting the keys to the house in a woman’s hand. In the background, I could see the “sold” word appearing on the real estate sign, the sun was shining, and the young woman was as excited as we were. I replayed this movie in my head as often as I thought about it, especially every night before bed.

Two months later, we were signing the papers to sell the house, and guess who bought it? A young woman with the same slender hand that I had been envisioning for two months. “The Secret” really works! It is truly awesome!
