One day while going with my sister to look at a very large piece of property for sale that we dreamt about purchasing for our large family to build homes on, she told me about the book The Secret, which another one of our sisters had given her. I was intrigued by her description of the law of attraction. I had always understood that there was something working in our favor, but had never heard of the law of attraction or the book The Secret. I always knew that when I was – what I referred to as – “in sync”, things simply worked out in a positive way. The only thing was that I never thought of intentionally using it to attract the things I wanted out of life. I had even included a depiction of what I refer to as the universal mind in my first and only tattoo I had gotten 9 months prior to my sister telling me about The Secret.

Within a week I went out and purchased the book and couldn’t put it down. I was totally consumed by the idea of “intentionally” using something that I always took as random feedback of my mood and synchronization with nature.

After reading the book I purchased the movie, and then the book on CD, so I could repeatedly listen to it as I drive to and from work. I have also purchased at least 3 more copies of the book for friends. I really appreciated the idea of the gratitude rock, and wanted something special to me to keep in my pocket as a reminder to be thankful. When my family gets together we often play poker for pocket change and use those inexpensive red, white, and blue poker chips, so I decided a blue one of these chips would be perfect to keep in my pocket to remind me to be thankful. My mother had an assortment of these chips collected over the years, so I kept thinking that the next time I went to her house I would get one. I didn’t have any plans to go there and she lives several hours away, but kept thinking that one of these weekends I will go there and get one.

About three weeks after deciding to use a blue chip, and continuing to anticipate having one in my pocket, I went out to the garage and moved the lawn mower. There laying on the garage floor was a blue plastic poker chip just like I imagined. I was dumbfounded. I can not explain it other than I wanted one and was going to get one and the law of attraction manifested it.

Among other examples, one Sunday morning 4 friends and I decided to go out to breakfast, and I knew the after-church crowd was going to make getting a table for 5 very challenging. The whole way to the restaurant I believed they would have a table for us. When we walked into the crowded lobby and told the hostess that we were a party of 5 she stated it would be a 25 minute wait and turned around to walk away. My stomach sunk, but she almost immediately turned around and said, we can seat you now. Smiling, I had no doubt the law of attraction had worked again.

I’ve also worked on receiving checks in the mail, and within about a 3 week period I received 4 checks that were completely unexpected. Several days after receiving the last of those 4 checks I hadn’t received any more checks and was wondering where my checks were. The next day someone I had recently sold my car to telephoned to tell me that she had received a check to me from the bank for overpayment. I laughed – there was another one.

I have absolutely no doubts that The Secret and law of attraction absolutely work, but not long after receiving that fifth check I was hit with some large unanticipated expenses which have put me under some severe financial stress. I can only think that I’m not entirely clear about what I want am thinking about. I’m trying to recover my composure and continue to try to stay positive, thankful, and focus on abundance and more checks in the mail, but am really struggling with anxiety over finances. I know if I continue to use The Secret and law of attraction I will recover financially; even to the point of purchasing that large piece of property for my family.
