I had been in my new apartment a few months when a friend from school told me about The Secret. Firstly, I was in this apartment because I thought of nothing else but a place for me and my son to live. I had left my husband and was living with my mother with my then 15/16 year old son. I had no idea of how powerful my thoughts were then, but I did know that I needed to get back on my own.

After talking to my son, I looked in the newspaper and found the only apartment that fitted my needs. I didn’t know much about Long Island, but I had a friend that lived in the area. I went to look at this place and it was just as I needed – a 2 bedroom that I could afford in a nice area and not far form the friend that I had contacted. We moved in on the 1st of the next month. This was such a blessing. My son and I both needed this positive change.

I went back to school after the first year and will graduate with a Fitness Specialist Degree in the spring of 2011. Suffolk Community College has helped me more than I can say. I met the person who inspired me to get the audio book, tape and the book The Secret. She explained the concept to me and I was so curious that I went out and brought the book. I became so busy with school that I was unable to read it, so I took a look into my local library and they had the audio book. I was able to listen to the book on my way to and from work in Queens, NY each day.

I started to follow its principles right away. I brought the tape to give to my mum so she could see it. After living in the apartment for 2 years I felt that we needed a place of our own. This was the perfect time to buy. I had my doubts about if my credit was good enough. The same friend that took a look at that apartment for me encouraged me to try. What could it hurt? I had never thought about it that way and I took the leap and I was qualified for more than I ever dreamed of.

I began to look at homes and when I found one that was perfect for the two of us I began. I started, like your mom to write the address with my name on top. Within two months the bank and I had come to some agreement. Two months later I was moving in. I couldn’t believe it. We have been here for six months now. I love coming home each night.

It was this book that continued to inspire me. This book has changed my life. I know you have heard this many times before but I am so happy and grateful for it. It has led me to other books and people to remind and refine how I want to live my life. It started here and I want to say thank you. I live every day with a positive attitude. I will continue and hope to help others do the same.
