Be Patient

Bronx, NYSingle woman living in NYC with hopes and dreams of living my life to the fullest.
I read The Secret about a year ago, and purchased the DVD to watch and keep myself motivated. At first, most of what I was reading seemed nice and ideal, but in reality it was easier said or “read” than done. I had to re-read the book a few times and watch the DVD a few times to really understand the basis for the concept of drawing goodness to you.
I created a vision board, and included all the wonderful things I dreamed of and even included a completed check to see what would happen nothing. I realized that part of this shift in thinking and feeling has a great deal to do with ones motivation and intent. I think that for me it took a while to incorporate the simple principles of giving love, being thankful, and deeply believing in my own worth. Once you begin to allow these truths to penetrate your established mind set, you can begin to see the law in action. So, I tried an experiment…
I received a notice in the mail that I owed some money in unpaid taxes, and they required the money to be paid in full within three weeks. Of course, I became very upset and concerned because I didn’t have the money. I decided to test the law of attraction to see if this stuff really works. I decided not to worry about this problem, and trusted that things would work themselves out.
Every day, I would wake up and thank God for everything in my life and at night I would read pages from the new book The Power, and go to bed with positive thoughts. During the day I posted notes on my computer about being a money magnet, and I made the extra effort to think really positive thoughts. I kept this up for several weeks, and discovered a wonderful surprise Last year, I owed someone else some money and agreed to pay them back in monthly installments, but when I went to review my payments history, I realized I had overpaid. Now, I’m getting a check in the mail from this person for the amount I need to pay my taxes.
Now, I’m not sure if this counts as the law in action, but for me it’s a start to really believing in this wonderful process. Just be patient and believe!
