Baby, I Am The Lucky One!
Submitted by: Kay F.
Virginia, United StatesI am a professional woman in my 30s, with a loving family.
I am writing to tell you an old story. It is only within the last few years I started appreciating how lucky I have been my entire life! I hope you too receive everything that your heart desires after you read this story.
I come from a middle class family in Asia. My parents made just enough money to educate and take care of us. We never took lavish vacations or led a luxurious life. My parents expected my sister and I to work very hard, and we did. We consistently placed at the top of our class. In retrospect, I am very thankful for the discipline my parents cultivated in us. Also, having fewer possessions meant that I turned to books for entertainment. I developed an eternal love of reading and hope to publish a book one day.
How did I get lucky? I was able to get into a private high school on a scholarship. I was able to catapult myself to a private college again on a scholarship. I had to work hard to earn a high GPA and barely had time for socializing but it was worth it! After graduation I came to the US for my graduate degree. Again the Universe blessed me with an assistantship with the right professor and working on the perfect project.
I also got a fantastic job with high pay as soon as I completed my Master’s. As a graduation present, I was able to buy my dream car. I moved from that company to a few others, gained tons of experience, and learned new skills. This enabled me to double my income in less than ten years.
I did forget about my luck often, and that is when I fell into depression, unhappiness, and self-flagellation. I had one terrible relationship that shattered my self-esteem. I let my boyfriend mistreat me and felt that I was not good enough for him. When I hit rock bottom, I started taking better care of myself and focused on my job. I then found the love of my life! We have been happily married for 13 years now and have three healthy, bright, and beautiful children.
I am now working on channeling The Secret back into my career. I started a consulting/coaching company recently, and I am using all I learned through The Secret to attract clients. I am hoping to double my income in half as many years now! I also recently applied for a job that can help me fund my new business as it grows. I am convinced that The Secret will land me this perfect job that lets me work from home so that I can use the time I would have used for commuting for my business and my clients. I am also using The Secret to publish my book! I fully believe that I will be posting here about my job, business, and book soon to motivate you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You are lucky! Just reflect back to when something positive effortlessly occurred in your life. Remember to be kind to yourself. I found that the Universe always works in my favor when I bring my best self to everything I do, believe that I am good enough, and then let go of the results.
I call this “living in my mojo.” We all have mojo. We just let others deplete it. We allow small things to eat away at our positivity, and before we know it, we are expecting others to make us happy and praying, hoping, and striving for things with anxiety.
Learn, work, ask, believe, relax and receive!
May fortune favor you as she has me. I believe fortune will continue to favor me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
