I am speechless. I am blown away by what just came into my life this very second. I wanted to get it down and share it with you immediately because I can’t believe it is real. And it is all a result of the fabulous book The Secret.

I read The Secret several months ago. While I enjoyed it, I didn’t really think about it too much. Then about a month ago I suggested to a friend who was having difficulties in life that she read your book. Shortly after, she told me that she had bought the book on CD and listened to it in her car every day and she was feeling great.

My husband and I are experiencing severe financial difficulties and are near bankruptcy due to some bad decisions we made in a business we owned. I have started a new business, a pet sitting and errand service, trying to bring in enough money to keep foreclosure at bay. I felt I was at the end of my rope. So I followed my friends lead and bought the book on CD and now listen to it every day in the car and at home. I was completely motivated and started practicing the teaching of The Secret immediately. I quickly came to realize that the truth of the Secret would somehow bring the necessary money into our lives. With that in mind I ask for several things every day – money, success in my new business, and happiness. Then I started actively envisioning our lives with an abundance of love, happiness, and money.

The thing that stuck me right away (I had learned this when I was in college from a Norman Vincent Peale book – “The Power of Positive Thinking”, but had let the idea slip out of my consciousness) was the concept that I am the only person who can make me happy, and I can decide to be happy every minute of every day, and that by doing so I will attract more joy and happiness to me. It is so basic, but absolutely spot on – thank you for reminding me of this simple, yet unbelievably powerful truth!!!

As I started really believing, wonderful things started happening: I got a note in the mail that I would receive $800 back from our mortgage company to whom we had overpaid our escrow. When I asked for new clients, the phone rang and I got them. The one that made me stop dead in my tracks was from a man who was looking for someone to walk his dog. When I met with him I found out that he is a motivational speaker and author. He wrote a book that is very similar in content to The Secret. I was blown away by this coincidence, but quickly realized that it was no coincidence, that the Secret had brought this person into my life. Later he told me that he may be looking to hire a personal assistant. Wow, more money and the opportunity to work with someone who is on the absolute same wavelength I am. I could barely contain myself. I thought I would burst with joy.

As I read his book and remembered the words of Jack Canfield from The Secret, I started revisiting the idea of writing a book myself. For years I had toyed with the idea of writing children’s books. I had actually started several, but never had the commitment or time to finish. Being a very creative person, I have a wealth of ideas and story lines. Some are fantastical and some are heartwarming experiences from my life. I pulled out all my outlines and drafts and felt the excitement of my own creativity, and I started writing with a purpose, because for the first time in my life I had confidence in my creativity and skills. My only difficulty was finding “IT” – the moral, the thread that would pull the content together with a purpose.

Having no idea how to get a book published I went to the bookstore and bought a book on how to write and publish children’s books. One section featured a story on an author who described how all her writing came from her heart. It was always something she believed strongly in. I believed strongly in my creativity and my ability to give children joy from reading my lighthearted, funny stories, but something was missing.

This morning “IT” fell out of the sky and hit me in the head! “IT” is the Secret. I knew that I had to weave the empowering message of the Secret into my stories to help children understand how much power they have over their lives. I want them to understand at an early age that they can choose their lives, can choose to be happy, prosperous, and healthy right now. They don’t have to wait to grow up before they can have any control over their lives, they can start right now. The idea was so simple yet so powerful; I literally couldn’t articulate the breakthrough to my husband. I had to sit down and write this to you at The Secret to fully grasp the enormity of the gift I had been given.

Armed with this powerful concept I am absolutely convinced that my stories will not only reach out and change the lives of children everywhere, but it will make me lots of money in the process. I have no idea how the stories will get published. I just know that through the use of the Secret it will happen; that the universe will move people, things, and events into line to make it happen.

I am happier, more confident, more filled with joy and abundance than I have ever been in my life, and I will never go back to my old way of living. I am transformed! And I am trying to spread the word of this wonderful life-altering book to my family and friends.

PS – I have started a fun thing to help keep me grounded. I started picturing myself as a vessel that is being filled up with all the good things currently in my life and those that are coming to me. As it fills it starts to overflow onto the people around me. To better visualize this, I printed off the “I am so happy and grateful, now that” page from your web site and taped it onto a clear vase. Every time I have a great thought I write it out and put it in the vase. It is filling up so fast that it will soon be overflowing. I think it is a great visualization tool to remember how much there is in my life to be grateful for.
